Our Story

Blue SteelCo is an American manufacturer of industrial safety equipment headquartered in Waxahachie, Texas. Founded in 1997 by Andrew Adamson, the company designs, fabricates, and ships heavy-duty steel products that help industrial facilities meet OSHA workplace safety standards.

For over 28 years, Blue SteelCo has served facility managers, safety directors, and plant engineers across the United States. Every product is designed in-house, fabricated from heavy-gauge American steel, powder-coated for durability, and shipped directly from our Texas facility.

How It Started

In 2006, Union Pacific Railroad had a problem. Fire extinguishers at their maintenance facilities were scattered across floors, workbenches, and storage sheds. Workers could not tell which units were charged. There was no organized system for inspection, retrieval, or compliance.

Andrew Adamson designed a solution: an all-steel storage rack with individual vertical slots for each extinguisher, expanded metal decking for drainage, fork pockets for easy relocation, and powder-coated safety yellow finish for high visibility. The design kept extinguishers upright, organized, and instantly accessible during emergencies.

That first rack for Union Pacific became the foundation of the Blue SteelCo Fire Extinguisher Storage Rack product line — now available in nine configurations from 6-place to 30-place capacity.

What We Build

Fire Extinguisher Storage Racks — Industrial-grade steel racks that hold 6 to 48 fire extinguishers in OSHA 1910.157 and NFPA 10 compliant configurations. Freestanding with fork pockets for forklift mobility. Used in warehouses, manufacturing plants, railroad facilities, power stations, and military installations across the United States.

Collapsible Pit Handrails — A proprietary safety barrier system for industrial service pits and underground access points. Blue SteelCo is the sole manufacturer of this design, which folds below the floor plane to allow vehicle or equipment passage, then extends to 42-inch OSHA 1910.23 compliant height for worker protection during pit access.
